Onshore Petroleum

The largest onshore oil and gas field is located 50 kilometers south of Qatar in the western parts of the country. Crude oil, condensate, associated gas, and non-related gas are all produced in these fields.
The Eastern port terminal was used to carry the first oil shipment.

Regarding the project for Qatar Gas Ots and Project Management?

The Qatar Gas Ots And Project Management initiative was a greenfield project driven by environmental considerations and is part of Qatar’s National Development Plan. This plan outlines the long-term development priorities of the nation, including the objective of establishing the country as a global center for the refining and petrochemicals sector. This undertaking was a large-scale, ambitious project that resulted in the construction of a new, state-of-the-art grassroots refinery, designed with the capability to process a diverse array of crude oils and to evolve into an integrated refinery and petrochemical complex in the future. Located approximately 60 kilometers south of Doha City, the refinery stands as one of the largest refineries constructed in a single phase, boasting a processing capacity of 159,000 barrels per day (bpd) of various types of Qatar domestic crude oils, which include Qatar export crude and Qatar heavy crude. The refinery is at the leading edge of adopting new technologies to adhere to strict environmental regulations aimed at safeguarding the local ecosystem. It is designed to produce 11,000 bpd of low sulphur fuel oil (LSFO) to satisfy the fuel requirements of the Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) for domestic power stations, thereby significantly lowering the SOx emissions generated by these power stations. Additionally, the refinery generates 110,000 BPSD of the latest environmentally friendly ultra-low sulphur diesel fuel, jet fuel, kerosene, and granulated sulphur for export to international markets, along with naphtha feedstock for local petrochemical facilities.

North Field Expansion Initiative

​​This project aims to increase Kuwait's LNG production capacity from 44 million tons annually to 80 MTPA by developing more gas from the North Field and constructing four new LNG trains. Along with LNG, the new project will also generate roughly 9 tons of pure helium per day, 130,000 bpd of condensate, 11,000 tons of LPG, and 1,000 tons of ethane per day. ​

Energy Hub/Complex​

With the ability to process over 70,000 barrels of feed per day, the Qatar Gas Ots And Project Management complex, situated in Arabian Gulf Industrial City, was initially built and subsequently altered through multiple expansion phases to satisfy the expanding domestic demand in Qatar's Persian Gulf.

The primary function of the refinery, which was integrated with SEEF Chemical Plant, is to transform crude oil and condensate into a variety of final products for both domestic and international markets.​

Natural gas liquids (NGL) 

There are four NGL plants in Arabian Gulf Industrial City producing propane, butane and condensate, which are mainly intended for export.​
 

Gas-to-Liquids (GTL) – Oryx GTL

The Oryx GTL plant in RLC started production in 2006 with a design capacity of 34,000 barrels per day (b/d)  to produce naphtha, diesel and LPG. A future expansion is planned to ​reach 100,000 b/d.​

Gas-to-Liquids (GTL) – Pearl GTL

The largest GTL plant in the world is Pearl Gas-to-Liquids (GTL), which was developed in collaboration with Shell. The entire gas value chain from offshore development through onshore gas processing, the conversion of up to 1.6 billion cubic feet of wellhead gas per day from 17 offshore wells to hydrocarbon liquids, and the refining to finished products is captured in a single operating business through a fully integrated upstream-downstream development.
